Copyright © 2022 The Author(s). Visualization is the process of mentally establishing, forming, and acknowledging information and the aptness to externally communicate it. This paper highlights the role that visualization methods play in framing the design thinking process. We present a conceptual framework to showcase explanatory examples of visualization regarding each stage of the design thinking process, identifying its purpose and advantages. Finally, we attempt to suggest the use of visualization within design thinking to assist researchers and practitioners in their design thinking process.en_US
