Abstract: In this review, the operation and functionality of batteries used in industrial applications will be investigated. It will be discussed how and why batteries degrade and lose efficiency because of improper thermal management and based on that it will be explained what methods and techniques can be applied to reduce this impact. Through this, it will be explained how heat management methods could be used to thermally control batteries. In addition to this, it will be indicated what technologies can be employed to manage thermal boundaries of batteries. A comprehensive review of the current state of the art technologies currently used will be followed by that which will include how these technologies can be applied as thermal management systems for batteries.
