Abstract: Two new triphenylarsonium alkylthiolate precursors, a thiosulfate zwitterion and a thioacetate salt, have been structurally characterised and their cytotoxicity evaluated against PC3 cells. The arsonium compounds have been used to prepare gold nanoparticles decorated with triphenylarsonium groups.
